



Physical Activity
For the first semester I entered the badminton club. I played badminton in Nanjing Normal University every Sunday afternoon for 2 hours. Then I entered Dancing Club because I am more interested in dancing.
The sport activity was an excellent chance for me to relax and keep fit. Being a competitor with a schoolmate for intramural or catch up with friends, I learnt to be a good competitor not only to be skillful, but to sacrifice a little sometimes if I played with a poor player. Playing badminton in the special gymnasium was expensive. Every time we should pay at least 20 RMB to play so it is important to cherish the chance. I always tried to learn some basic skills every time I met a skillful player.
There are many insights I gained about myself during and after this process, perseverance is the most important thing, don’t push yourself too hard at first, step by step is good for our physical body. Playing badminton is really a good exercise, it not only can keep your body healthy from other diseases, but it can also make your mood better!
Before coming to the badminton club I hardly had any experience, the only thing I learnt was how to pass a ball to the other person. When I practiced more in the club, I learnt how to pass a long ball and short ones also. I learnt how to play doubles, two people competing with another two was quite a fun activity, but sometimes without good cooperation it was really harmful. When one of my friends was playing with another girl on one side they both wanted to catch the ball but my friend hit the other in the eye and it started bleeding. We immediately took her to the infirmary.
I believe exercise is good, but we also need to learn how to protect ourselves. There are lots of benefits I gained from this activity. Keep fit, get my mind off my study, make us happier, help us have a good shape and it is a great way to meet friends.
